NYSNA picket line

After bravely manning picket lines for weeks in the freezing cold, while scab nurses worked unimpeded for blood money, NYSNA union officials are asking striking nurses from Mount Sinai and Montefiore hospitals to vote on a rotten tentative agreement that offers them little or nothing for their sacrifice.

TWFU urges nurses to reject the proposal by voting NO and organizing to broaden and intensify their strike. We say: One Out, All Out! Bring the hospital bosses to their knees!

Nurses deserve so much more: Don’t settle for a paltry 12% wage increase after originally asking for 30%! Don’t settle until the nurses unjustly fired just before the strike are rehired back to their exact same jobs! Don’t leave striking nurses at Presbyterian Hospital fighting alone on the picket lines without a decent contract! Extend the strike to Brooklyn Hospital Center, where nurses not on strike were just told that they don’t have health insurance! Don’t stop fighting until the hospital bosses actually act to solve short-staffing crisis by hiring many more nurses!

NYC’s powerful multiracial unions must mobilize in the thousands to build picket lines around the struck hospitals. We’re fed up with union leaders who only play by the bosses’ rules. The nurses’ fight is our fight: teachers, transit, sanitation, city and building trades unions must step up and mobilize to help the NYSNA nurses win!

TWFU has been going to the nurses picket lines from the earliest days of the strike, before our TWU Local 100 officials showed up for p.r. appearances. We demand that our union turn out TWUers in the hundreds and thousands to help the nurses win.
